Robert Coulter

1st Vice President

Robert Coulter was born and raised in Victoria. He attended UVic where he graduated with a BA in Political Science. While a student he regularly visited the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. During his career he worked in Vancouver, Williams Lake, and primarily in Ottawa where he held positions with Indian and Northern Affairs Canada. While there he held various positions including: Director of Indian Program Policy, Director of Aboriginal Economic Development and Procurement, and Director of Learning, Employment and Human Development. Subsequently, Robert worked with Social Development Canada as Director of International Social Policy and Diversity. From 2007-2009 he worked as a full time consultant on community relations and social policy for a joint venture mining company in Pakistan. Robert is a member of the Union Club of British Columbia’s General Committee and was the Chair of the Club’s Community Outreach. In 2015, he initiated Art + Fare, an annual Union Club sponsored fundraiser for the AGGV that has raised over $80,000 to date. Robert has served as a member of the AGGV’s Prospect Management Committee that focuses on funding the NEXT Gallery. Roberts’s active interests include art, architecture, travel and rugby.
