Double your impact, double our vision! On the Road: Journeys through Japanese Woodblock Prints, curated by Dr. Heng Wu, AGGV Curator of Asian Art, highlights more than 50 works from the Asian art collection, inviting viewers to journey through the landscapes and scenes captured in Japanese woodblock prints.
From May 4 to June 30, 2026, every dollar donated will be matched by an Anonymous Donor, Bob Coulter and Marilyn Denton, and the Gallery Associates.
The funds raised will double the Gallery’s ability to tell stories through art, care for the collection for generations to come, and support this highly anticipated exhibition.

The AGGV has the largest public collection in British Columbia, including the most important collection of Asian art in Western Canada. For over 80 years the AGGV’s collection of Japanese art has grown through the philanthropy of our donors and community. In particular, the Japanese woodblock prints are a major collection highlight, encompassing thousands of works from the 17th century through to the modern era.

This exhibition is presented by the Gallery Associates and runs October 3, 2026 – April 4, 2027.
The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria is home to one of Canada’s most important Asian art collections. It is internationally recognized as the most important collection of its kind in Western Canada which continues to grow under the stewardship of Dr. Heng Wu, AGGV Curator of Asian Art.
