House Tour 2020: Video Edition
Don’t miss this exciting virtual adaptation of the annual House Tour! Join us for a guided video tour led by local appraiser and art historian Alison Ross. This exclusive peek into a 1916 Italian Renaissance home designed by Samuel Maclure, includes extensive interviews with the owners about the extraordinary project and the choices they made creating this warm, inviting family home.
Blair Gowie, built by Butchart Gardens founders for daughter Jennie Butchart and husband Harry Ross, sits on a rocky knoll surrounded by a mature oak tree canopy. The home was restored and updated by well-known designer Bruce Wilkin and Ann Hillyer. Extensive custom millwork is showcased using warm white walls, original wood floors, and light from a wall of garden-facing windows. You will learn how they created a gallery-like setting for their favourite works of art, exquisite furnishings and fixtures.
