SUPPORT THE GALLERY’S SPECIAL PROJECTS

Annual Appeal 2023/24

The Gallery is evolving. Despite the great work we’ve been doing, we continue to be challenged by our physical limitations and budget constraints. We need your help to ensure that our dedicated staff have the proper resources they need to deliver dynamic programming and to showcase more of the AGGV’s permanent collection. Please make a donation today and pick a project that is meaningful to you.

1) INCREASE COLLECTION VISIBILITY

Dr. Heng Wu – Curator of Asian Art

“The Gallery’s collection of Asian Art is internationally recognized as the most important collection of its kind in Western Canada. We are excited to showcase more of our outstanding collection including Asian art, decorative arts, Emily Carr, and other important Canadian artists.” Your contribution helps us care for the permanent collection and secures a dedicated gallery space for these special pieces to shine.

2) RENEW THE AGGV STUDIO

Jeri Engen – Educator, School and Family Programs

“The AGGV Studio programs build community through access to art for all ages. Our little studio classroom space is overdue for a refresh. The current furnishings are approaching 60 years old and were originally intended for use by small children.” Your donation helps us update the space for use by children and adults while we continue to offer art education for all to enjoy.

3) ENHANCE DIGITAL OPTIONS

Natalie Rollins – Public Programs Coordinator

“Digital programming is vital to keeping our communities connected. We ensure that diverse voices are heard and amplified. We champion perspectives that truly reflect the place we live and our times.” Your support will help us acquire better audiovisual equipment so that we can increase access through an ever-evolving range of digital programming.

4) CONTINUED INNOVATION (Area of Greatest Need)

Anu Henderson – Curatorial and Education Administrator

“Our community is growing and the Gallery must evolve to meet the needs of both our members and the public.” Your gift ensures that we can continue to deliver high quality and thought-provoking programming for all to enjoy.

Thank you for making a difference. We can’t do it without you!

Fundraising Costs
We take our role as stewards of your generosity seriously. Committed to keeping our fundraising costs low, we aim to spend the highest possible percentage of every donation on exhibitions, programming and experiences that contribute to the quality of life in our community. The AGGV’s average cost of fundraising ratio of 14% (averaged over three years) falls well below Canada Revenue Agency’s (CRA) guidance to remain under 35%. The AGGV calculates its fundraising ratio, which measures costs to revenue, as defined by the CRA.

Specified Gifts
Once the needs of the campaign are met, donations will support the highest priority needed at the Gallery. A portion of all specified gifts is used to support the work and mission of the AGGV.
