Public Open House: Outside the Lines, Community Consultation
Nov 1 - 10:00 am | Nov 14 - 5:00 pmLet’s get creative about the future of the Gallery.
Don’t miss the results of our year long community consultation about the future role of the Gallery on display in the Spencer Mansion from Nov 1-14.
The public are invited to learn what the community has shared with the AGGV over the last year during an ambitious visioning and strategic planning process, build on ideas generated by important community stakeholders, and join the conversation.
Visitors attending will have the opportunity to leave their comments with self-guided interactives. There are no wrong answers, all comments are welcome.
Between October 2022 and November 2023, the AGGV has hosted a number of workshops, launched a public survey and has undertaken comprehensive market research to gather information from the community about the future role of the Gallery. Over 500 people from the community have responded, including AGGV members, donors, volunteers, AGGV staff and management, artists, arts administrators, educators, new Canadians and immigrants, members of the BIPOC community, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people living with
disabilities. Engagement with the Indigenous community is ongoing.
The results of the public engagement initiative will inform our strategic planning and impact the types of exhibitions and programs that we offer. Help develop the future vision for the Gallery and share what matters to you and the stories that we need to tell.
The Public Open House is free to attend and will take place during regular Gallery Hours in the Spencer Mansion. For those unable to attend, the public engagement survey is available here.
