Public Call for Expressions of Interest
The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (AGGV) is seeking new members to join its Board of Directors.
This is an exciting and formative time in the Gallery’s history as we advance plans for a new purpose-built gallery in downtown Victoria. As we look ahead, the AGGV is intentionally working to build a Board that reflects the broad range of lived experiences, perspectives, and identities within our community and is equipped to help guide the Gallery’s future.
As a leading institution in the arts and culture sector, the AGGV is committed to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of its work. We welcome applicants from all communities, particularly individuals who have been historically underrepresented or excluded from cultural institutions. We believe a diverse Board is essential to ensuring the Gallery remains relevant, accessible, and responsive to the people it serves.
The AGGV Board is composed of members with a range of expertise, including law, finance, visual arts, property development, and governance. In light of the Gallery’s upcoming capital project, we are particularly interested in individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas: philanthropy and relationship management; capital projects; business and corporate leadership; risk management; and government relations.
In addition to professional expertise, the Board values lived experience, community knowledge, and relational leadership. Prior board experience is beneficial but not required. The AGGV is committed to supporting new board members and values curiosity, sound judgement, care, and a willingness to learn.
This is a volunteer position with a time commitment of up to eight hours per month, including participation in at least one committee. While there is no financial compensation, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the Gallery’s long-term direction, growth, and impact within the community.
If you are interested in contributing your skills, experience, and perspective to the AGGV, we invite you to submit an Expression of Interest via the button below.
The deadline for applications is February 13, 2026
