Alana Best has dedicated her career to public service with a consistent focus on supporting communities, strengthening public institutions, and fostering trusted relationships across sectors. A Chartered Professional Accountant, she is currently a Director at Deloitte, where she supports public sector clients on governance, funding models, and large-scale initiatives. She previously served as Assistant Deputy Minister and Executive Financial Officer for the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport as well as the Ministry of Municipal Affairs with the Government of British Columbia.

Alana has worked closely with provincial and local governments across British Columbia, bringing a strong understanding of public accountability, stewardship, and community-centred decision-making. She has contributed to significant cultural infrastructure initiatives, including providing financial and governance support to the Royal BC Museum’s Collections and Research Building project. Alana also previously served on the Board of the Greater Victoria Women’s Shelter Society, supporting governance, financial oversight, and organizational sustainability.
A committed supporter of the arts, Alana brings both professional experience and personal passion to her role. She is an avid traveler whose interest in exploring new places is closely tied to visiting galleries and cultural institutions. She sees art as a universal language—one that reflects who we are as a society, what we struggle with, and where we find joy, meaning, and connection. Alana is also the author of Around the World in Black & White (2023), a memoir exploring family, culture, and identity.


Katie Bishop
is an experienced business professional and Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) with a strong background in leadership, finance, and organizational strategy. She currently works with a boutique valuation firm in Victoria, advising clients across a range of industries.

Prior to this, Katie spent over 20 years with TD Bank, where she held senior executive roles in Business Banking, Operations and Technology, and Finance. Most recently, she led TD’s Commercial Banking team for Vancouver Island. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA from the University of Saskatchewan and earned her CBV designation in 2023. Deeply engaged in her community, Katie has served in several board leadership roles, including Treasurer of the Victoria Symphony Society and Chair of the Vancouver Island Economic Alliance. She currently serves as a Director with the Victoria Golf Course and the Victoria Symphony Foundation. Her governance experience and strategic insight support the Gallery as it evolves and transitions.

Katie relocated to Victoria from Toronto ten years ago with her husband and son and has since embraced West Coast living. She enjoys year-round golf, travel, and spending time with family and friends.


Tyson Loreth
is a long time resident of Victoria, having lived in the community for more than 37 years. Growing up just a short distance from the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, Tyson has a deep personal connection to the cultural fabric of the city. He is a graduate of both Camosun College and the University of Victoria, and is proud to continue contributing to the region he calls home.
Tyson is an accomplished project and capital program leader with over 15 years of experience across both the public and private sectors. His professional expertise includes strategic planning, governance support, and the successful implementation of complex capital projects. Throughout his career, he has contributed to a wide range of sectors, including private development, healthcare, transportation, water and infrastructure, and post secondary education.

In his current role as Director of Campus Planning and Capital Projects at Camosun College, Tyson oversees the institution’s capital portfolio, supports the delivery of all capital investments, and leads the development of the College’s one, three, and five year capital plans. His work focuses on long term value, stewardship of public resources, and aligning capital investments with organizational vision and community impact.

Outside of work, Tyson spends his time with his family—his wife Julia, daughter Kate, and son Luke. Together, they enjoy being active and spending time outdoors, further strengthening their connection to the Victoria community.
