The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria is looking for 10 volunteers, to help deliver inspiring workshops in schools, starting this September!
Maximum 1 Wednesday morning per week (8:30am to 12:30pm,) for approximately 9 weeks, from late September to end of November.
Two, 3 hour long training sessions in late September.
Who we’d love to work with:
People who love working with young learners, to inspire connections with art and grow communities centered in well-being!
People who are committed to anti-oppression work, and dedicated to learning about and putting into action, ways to Decolonize and Indigenize.
Experience facilitating workshops (learning experiences) with young learners will be an asset.
It would be ideal if you have access to transportation, or can get to the AGGV early mornings for carpooling to schools.

If working in a beautiful mansion surrounded by local fine art on rotation sounds appealing, and you’re highly organized, quick to pick up new software and experienced in customer service, we’d love to hear from you! Our energetic and art savvy Art Rental and Sales team is looking for an all-star assistant to play an important role in helping with the management and administration of the Art Rental and Sales program. Sales experience and an interest in working with artists are key, and experience with fine art handling would be an asset. Join our awesome team of volunteers, experience Massey Sales Gallery events and programming, and learn new inventory and web management skills. Hone your skills while building your resume!
If you’re seeking a front and center experience at the AGGV – look no further! You’re the first person a visitor sees and so you set the tone of a guest’s experience. You’re as practical on the administrative side as you are affable on the personality side. You’re a multitasking champion and you can also speak to our exhibitions and programs with confidence. You’re articulate and approachable, and you have some customer service experience. Selling memberships to the Gallery comes naturally to you because you know how awesome they are. Your passion for people compliments your passion for the arts and culture sector. If any of this has you pegged, please apply to work on the front lines with our vibrant Visitor Services team! Gain valuable work experience as a weekly volunteer while sharpening up your resume. After this dynamic and well-rounded experience, any cultural institution would be lucky to hire you.

Enhancing a visitor’s experience inspires you because customer service is your jam! If a pleasant and social environment full of warm smiles appeals to you (and you’re punctual and reliable), our friendly Gallery Enterprises team welcomes you to apply. The Gallery Shop’s important role of raising revenue to support the AGGV is also key to the daily operations of the institution. Although this rewarding position is a minor time commitment, you’d still be a major player in our community. Who knows where this could lead?

The Gallery Associates are AGGV members who raise funds for the Gallery. They are a diverse volunteer group of women and men who have supported the Gallery for more than 65 years. Celebrating and fostering interest in the Gallery is at the heart of their activities.
