Teacher Resource Guides
Welcome to the AGGV’s Teacher Resource Guides!
We are pleased to offer two guides that are easy to access, free to download and use in any classroom in Victoria, across BC and beyond:
Powerful Pictures: Representation and Storytelling and In the Present Moment: Buddhism, Contemporary Art, and Social Practice.
The guides feature dynamic artwork by thought-provoking artists: Powerful Pictures features Sonny Assu, Terrance Houle, Meryl McMaster and Marianne Nicolson, and In the Present Moment features Nakahara Nantenbo, Mark Tobey, Pauline Oliveros, Tenzing Rigdol and Dylan Thomas.
- Every fall, the Gallery offers half-day workshops in schools, inspired by current Teacher Resource Guides! These are hands-on, experiential workshops featuring a local artist that encourage collaboration, honouring of Indigenous worldviews, as well as critical and creative thinking. Co-facilitated by Gallery educators, students in UVIC’S Indigenous Education Program, and a featured local artist!
- Please note that our 2019 workshops are full so stay tuned for 2020! Interested in learning more? Email: firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
- *Please note that workshops are offered October-November on Wednesdays from 9am-12pm (except for November 13).
