Woven In Opening Celebration with Open Dialogue (in-person)

Jan 12 | 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us at the Gallery for an evening of ceremony and celebration as we welcome the public to Woven In: Indigenous Women’s Activism & Media co-curated by Gerry Ambers, Marianne Nicolson and Siku Allooloo. This exhibition celebrates the intergenerational continuum of grassroots leadership and anticolonial organizing led by women through advocacy, communications, artistry, and community initiatives.

As we come together to celebrate this important exhibition, we are also pleased to invite the community, guest curators and visitors to participate in an open dialogue and discussion with artists who will share insight into their work. We will begin the gathering in a good way with a lək̓ʷəŋən Welcome by Diane Sam of the Songhees Nation (Songhees/Ahousaht).

Nourishment will be provided as light food and beverage.

It is thanks to the lək̓ʷəŋən speaking people, the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations, that we are able to live, play and explore art on this territory. The AGGV does not charge admission to Indigenous Peoples.

Open to the Public. Admission by Donation.
