Public Open House: National Indigenous Peoples Day

Jun 21 | 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

In celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day this year, we are extending free admission to the Gallery on June 21 from 10am-5pm.  Visitors to the Gallery will be greeted by a new acquisition on display in the AGGV lobby, a House Post entitled, Kiss the Sky (2015) by Coast Salish artist, Chris Paul, and purchased with funds provided by the Art & Fare Fund for Indigenous Art in 2023.

We will be offering free Indigenous Passes to the Indigenous Community to help remove barriers to and to support self-advocacy.  Don’t forget to sign-up to receive Indigenous art news, programming and special events at the Gallery!

This event is open to the public.

Free admission. Admission to the Gallery is always free for Indigenous Peoples.

We lift our hands and extend our gratitude to the lək̓ʷəŋən speaking people, the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations, who have stewarded this territory for time immemorial.

The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria sits on the unceded and traditional territory of the Lək̓ʷəŋən -speaking peoples, today known as the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. We are grateful to live, play and explore art on these lands.
