The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria is seeking expressions of interest for several volunteer Board of Director positions. We are looking for people who are passionate about the arts and willing to contribute to the governance of the organization. Preference will be given to people with legal, accounting, governance, or property development expertise. Preference will go to members of diverse communities who have these skills. Board members are required to attend 6 to 8 Board meetings per year, participate in at least one committee with an additional 4 to 6 meetings per year, and be a member of the Gallery. Financial support for the Gallery and attendance at Gallery events is strongly encouraged.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are advised that, to be eligible for consideration as a Board Director for the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, the following criteria must be met: Pursuant to section 44 of the Societies Act, each Director shall be an individual who: i. is at least 18 years of age; ii. has not been found by a court in Canada or elsewhere to be incapable of managing their own affairs; and iii. does not have the status of bankrupt.
