The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria is dedicated to protecting your privacy as you use our website. Our policy is that no personal information will be collected about you unless you choose to provide it and that any personal information which you provide us will be safeguarded to the best of our ability and not shared with others for any reason except as required by law.
1. Personal Information
When you become a member of the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, we ask for your email address. Giving us your email address is optional. We ask for it only so that we can send you email bulletins, but if you do not wish to be on our email list, you need not give us this information.
If you register for a product or service, you can opt in to receive AGGV email communications. If you agree to be contacted by the Gallery through mail and/or email, the Gallery may contact you from time to time to send information pertaining to the product(s) you purchased; inform you of special promotional offers, special events or upcoming exhibitions; and inquire about your satisfaction and needs with regards to the Gallery’s products, services etc. On all of the forms collecting contact information, you will be asked if you would like to receive updates from the Gallery. The Gallery will not use the information internally for other purposes and will not share it with anyone outside of the Gallery. We will not use your email address for any purpose other than responding to the message you have sent, unless we have your permission.
When you register to create your own personal collection in the “eMuseum” AGGV collection section of this website, you will also be asked to give us your email address. This is required so that if you forget your password, you can email us so that we can provide it to you. You do not have to give us your email address, but if you do not, you will not be able to access your “eMuseum” personal collection page if you forget your password.
We do not share any of your personal data with any third party for any reason, unless we are required to do so by law.
2. Security
No data transmission over the Internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure. Therefore, while we try to protect your personal information, the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria does not guarantee the security of information transmitted to or from aggv.ca.

3. Cookies
Our website may distribute small pieces of information called “cookies” to your web browser to assist you when you return to specific areas of our site. If you have concerns about this, you may adjust your browser to not accept this information or to display a warning when a cookie is about to be placed on your browser. Our site contains links to other sites, which are not owned or controlled by the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. Please remember that our privacy policy does not apply to other sites and that we cannot be responsible for their privacy policies, if any, nor can we be responsible for the content on those sites.
