Online Workshop Registration
We invite learners of all ages to enjoy these fun online workshop activities, engaging stories and learning about these dynamic local artists. These online experiences are great for both classroom and home-school learning environments!
WORKSHOP #1: SONG & STORYTELLING WITH BRADLEY YUXWELUPTON DICK
Bradley Yuxwelupton Dick shares The “Paddle Welcome Song”, welcoming everyone to Lekwungen lands, today known as the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations (Victoria, BC). Hear Lekwungen stories and a “territorial acknowledgement” by both the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria and Bradley. You are invited to practice a land acknowledgement wherever you are. In Part 2, Bradley shares the “Story of Camosung”, an origin story about the Lekwungen’s close relationship to the lands and waters of the area. Create an artwork at the end of each video, using all of the senses, and share it with each other.

WORKSHOP #2: NURTURING THROUGH ARTMAKING WITH FARHEEN HAQ
Farheen HaQ shares how to take care of yourself and others through art making. Learn about what inspires her as an artist, create a “Rangoli Mandala” as a class, small group, or on your own, and explore how art and being mindful are connected. You will be invited to pause the video and reflect in a journal as you go, to connect explorations to your everyday life and studies in meaningful ways.
The cost to register for the two online workshops is $100.00. Each video is approximately 45 minutes long. We suggest planning to spend one hour or so with each workshop, since you’ll want to pause the video several times.
Registrants will have access to both video workshops for 3 months.
*If this cost is prohibitive for you, contact: firstname.lastname@example.org. We’d like everyone to be able to enjoy this offering.
