JAMES GORDANEER: THE CIRCUS SERIES
February 5, 1987 - February 5, 1987Lyrical images of the circus including dancers on the slack wire, acrobats on horses, and unicylists are captured in 12 brightly painted canvasses by James Gordaneer.
An image painter, Gordaneer uses the circus to explore formal and colour considerations. This series is a culmination of recent explorations into abstraction, the use of flat panes of colour, and his earlier indulgences into painterly surrealism.
