Ikebana
July 9, 1999 - July 9, 1999Ikebana is the art of flower arrangement according to the rules and principles evolved over the history of Japan. The arrangements are as varied as the people who make them and preserve the fleeting beauty of the materials.
The Ohara and Sogetsu schools are represented. Flower arrangers gather flowers, greenery, seed pods and driftwood from gardens and from the wild. While the displays may be refreshed weekly, and while different plant material might be substituted, the theme of each arrangement prevails.
