Remembering a Patron: Asian Art Donations from Dr. Judith Patt

Jun 30 | 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

For over 40 years the late Dr. Judith Part generously donated Asian works of art to the AGGV. This exhibition will feature many of her treasures which range from important Chinese and Japanese paintings to a huge variety of amazing Japanese prints from the 18th to 20th century. Judith Patt taught Asian art at the University of Victoria. She was born in the United States she eventually became a Canadian citizen. During the 4 decades she became a strong supporter of the Art Gallery, its programs and Asian collection. Judith served on the Gallery’s Board of Directors and lent her Asian art expertise to the Acquisitions Committee for decades. Through the remarkable patronage of Judith and others like her the AGGV has developed an outstanding collection of art from the Pacific region.
