On the Road: An Ekphrastic Writing Workshop
Oct 14 | 1:00 pm - 4:00 pmThis workshop provides an opportunity to explore the exhibition On the Road: Journeys through Japanese Woodblock Prints through writing with members of the Victoria Festival of Authors (VFA) board.
In this three-hour workshop participants will engage with, and be guided through, ways of responding to Japanese woodblock prints, seasons, and pilgrimage using metaphor, imagery, and sensory language, and will be encouraged to write two or three ekphrastic poems or prose pieces.
Participating VFA Board members include Yvonne Blomer, Christine Walde, and others.
On the Road: Journeys through Japanese Woodblock Prints runs from October 3, 2026, to April 4, 2027. Curated by Dr. Heng Wu, AGGV Curator of Asian Art.
