We extend our thanks and gratitude to the Lək̓ʷəŋən peoples, the Songhees and Xʷsepsəm Nations, who have stewarded this territory from time immemorial, and on whose territory the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria resides. Celebrating a wide range of work by Indigenous artists from across the continent, current exhibitions include As waters merge – swaying waves beckoning us closer guest curated by Camille Georgeson-User with Jazmine Andrew, curatorial assistant, features artworks by Léuli Eshrāghi with kekahi wahi (Drew Kahu’āina Broderick and Sancia Miala Shiba Nash), and Violet Johnson; Family Visits with artworks from the AGGV collection by Carl Beam, Brianna Bear and Eli Hirtle, Jackson Beardy, Dana Claxton, Eddy Cobiness, Franics Dick, Elizabeth Herrling, Robert Kakegamic, James Kakepetum, Salome Kalaserk, Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun Lets’lo:tseltun, LessLIE, Saul Mamakeesick, Lizzie Aviliajuk Nauya, Markin Papigatok, Sage Paul, Irene Tiktaalaaq; and our Permanent Collection Galleries, A View From Here: Reimagaining the AGGV Collections with artworks by Kelly Cannell, Terence Houle, Meryl McMaster, Kent Monkman, Michael Morris, Bill Reid, Dylan Thomas, and Hjalmer Wenstob; and Kiss the Sky by Chris Paul.
