Timed for the peak of Southern Japan’s fall colours, you will visit ancient and modern Japanese art museums, Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, traditional gardens, villages and historic pottery towns. Experience the amazing countryside while driving the Shimanami Highway (10 bridges connecting 6 scenic islands), making soba noodles with locals, strolling across a vine bridge, or viewing unique whirlpools. Visits to Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Kyoto and Osaka will provide you with unique cultural experiences. We are particularly pleased to oﬀer an overnight to the pilgrimage site of Mt. Koya to learn about Buddhist culture and food, and to stroll among intriguing cemetery markers.
