Rose Currie
Rose Currie is an award winning, multidisciplinary artist from Vancouver Island whose creative journey has been shaped by resilience, passion, and a deep connection to art. She has built a rich and diverse career as an artist, working as a scenic painter for theatre, designing prints for fabric and has a lengthy exhibition record. Her photography has been published, won awards and has been exhibited across Canada. Currently she has a focus on painting iconic landscapes around Victoria. In the beginning her paintings were a celebration of the city she lives in but as Victoria changes, is deconstructed and rebuilt, her paintings have gained a sense of memory and nostalgia. Her scenes evoke a sense of calm serenity that we have on the West Coast. They have been noted as vibrant, cinematic and iconic. She welcomes you to experience Victoria through her eyes.
