School Programs
The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria’s School Programs provide exhibition tours and workshops designed for elementary and secondary school groups.
Led by the Gallery’s education staff, these programs involve insightful, inquiry-based explorations of our current exhibitions that cultivate visual literacy and promote critical thinking about the world around us through art’s cultural and social contexts.

Tour + Workshop
Grades: 2-12
Price: $150
Time: Offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30am and 12:15pm
Length: 2 hrs
Tour Only
Grades: 2-12
Price: $100
Time: Offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:45am and 1:30pm
Length: 1 hr
Please note:
- School programs have a maximum capacity of 30 students with at least 3 adult chaperones.
- All programs require two weeks’ notice and advance payment to secure your booking.
- If you cancel within 14-days of your booked tour, your booking fee is non-refundable.
- Every tour includes a comprehensive Teacher Study Guide, which features background information about the artist(s), the exhibition your class will explore, including pre-and post-tour activities.
- Please prepare your students by using the Teacher Study Guide before your exhibition tour.
Self-guided school tours allow school groups to customize the Gallery experience to meet unique classroom learning objectives.
Admission
Youth (25 & under) Free
Adult (25+) $15 *
* Admission is always free for AGGV Members, See Art Pass holders, Indigenous peoples, and support workers.
Please note:
- Self-guided school tours are only available on Wednesdays and Fridays
- The maximum capacity is 30 students.
- We require one adult chaperone for every six elementary students and one adult for every ten secondary students.
- Each adult must pay the admission rate.
- All self-guided visits must be booked in advance. To book your self-guided visit, please contact jengen@aggv.ca with the details of your request.
Please review the following guidelines before your visit:
- When you arrive, please check in at the Front Desk, located in the lobby.
- Chaperones must always accompany students.
- Food, drinks and backpacks are not allowed in the exhibitions.
- We provide lockable bins to store backpacks and bags in during your tour at no extra cost. Please request if needed.
- Please prepare your students by using the Teacher Study Guide before your exhibition tour.
