“I was always drawing as a kid.
Art was a strange attraction for me in the shipbuilding town of Port Glasgow, Scotland, and I would sneak off to look at church windows when nobody was around.
When my school took us to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow, I just about jumped out of my skin over Salvador Dali’s Christ of Saint John of The Cross.
I attended art college in both Sweden and England, where nothing was gained and nothing was lost.
I dabbled in some Celtic design for a while, working in pen and ink, but I found real joy in acrylic on canvas.
I’ve always had an interest in surrealist art, so I had to throw my hat in the ring with those folks and the magic realists.
My art is really about graphic stories. I’m all about the narrative and my style has barely changed since the early days of creating — for which I am grateful.”
