Kelly Ketcheson
Kelly Ketcheson has been making art since childhood, all through high school and received his BFA Honours in 1991.
His landscapes capture bright and vibrant vignettes of west coast living with a lively delight for the deconstruction of proportion, linear perspective and colour theory. The result is a fun, whimsical take on the simple pleasures in life.
Recent forays into abstract and minimalist art continue the bright and vibrant journey but also bring in layered elements that play off each other while still providing that subtle sense of representation.
His influences come from pride of place: Growing up under the big sky on the Saskatchewan prairies then embracing the allure of the coast.
Kelly creates from his studio in Victoria, BC.
