Family Sunday Summer Kick-Off

Let’s celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of summer inspired by artworks from our permanent collection featured in the exhibition A View From Here: Reimagining the AGGV Collections.
Using a sharpie on acetate, trace artworks from the exhibition and add your own unique colors to learn how color shapes mood and emotion in art. Have fun painting with watercolors on small wood panels, enjoy the outdoors in our Japanese garden while sketching on easels set up for an en plein air experience, and create a summer night sky constellation that lets light filter through using mixed-media techniques, as inspired by the works of Victoria artist Pat Martin Bates. This Family Sunday is a great way to kick off the start of lasting summer memories with your family and friends.

Family Sunday happens every third Sunday of the month from October – June, and is an afternoon of exploring hands-on art-making and ideas for all ages. This recurring program often features special guests like storytellers, artists, performers or musicians.
