DescriptionElaborate candlestick holder has a single standing girl figure with 'bocage' a leafy or flowering background, which here is dense with both modelled flowers & foliage on a rococo style base. The girl's dress is painted with delicate, fairly naturalistic flowers in pink on a pale yellow background. She carries an apron full of individually moulded flowers. All colours are of a pastel hue, and there is restrained gilt trim on the girl's dress & high lighting the scroll work on base. A branch near the base of the tree extends outward & has a flat, pierced top in which the stem of the 'tulip' shaped porcelain holder fits.
