DescriptionCoat is of black figured (roundels) silk, opening at the centre and fastening down the front with fabric loops and buttons (3). Black body is decorated with coloured embroidered groups of flowers. There is a split mandarin square with a phoenix bird at top front centre and bands of blue and white embroidered flowers on a black background, on lower borders and forming a yoke. There is a mandarin square with a phoenix bird on the upper back. Cuffs consist of a narrow band of dark patterned embroidery attached to a wider white satin band at cuff edge embroidered in coloured figures and gold thread. Coat is lined with light blue plain silk.
