DescriptionWoman's navy blue silk coat has eight roundels embroidered in coloured silk floss, depicting cranes carrying peaches (lishui) surrounded by stylized clouds and a repeating swastika pattern. At the bottom of the surcoat are multicoloured diagonal bands of colour with various symbolic objects throughout the stylized waves. There are matching complimentary bands and crane motifs on the sleeve cuffs. All of the embroidered elements have couched gold-wrapped threads. The coat has five silk cord fasteners down the centre of the garment, and is lightly padded and quilted. The garment is lined with a light blue silk damask.
