DescriptionTwo part circular netsuke. One section has a raised inlay of mother-of-pearl and jade?, depicting a crouching male rat catcher with an open-mouth expression of surprise, a rat on his head, and holding a box in two hands at his front. There is a raised section with himotoshi at centre on inside. The other half is plain except for an inlaid red seal and has a single perforation through the centre. There is a leather cord joining the two sections.
