Descriptionsquare box & lid (a-b) containing a separate bottom (c) with one indentation for a (d) water dropper (mizuire) and a cut away area for a (e) ink stone (suzuri). Exterior of lid is inlaid with pewter, mother-of-pearl & gold takamaki in a design of "Thirty-Six Famous Poets" and the interior separate box bottom has a design representing a group of plovers. Background in nashiji.square box & lid (a -b) containing a separate bottom (c) with one indentation for a (d) water dropper (mizuire) and a cut away area for a (e) ink stone (suzuri); items f-j are props: inks sticks and a paint brush. Exterior of lid is inlaid with pewter, mother-of-pearl & gold takamaki in a design of "Thirty-Six Famous Poets" and the interior separate box bottom has a design representing a group of plovers.
