Creative Edge: Writing Workshop for Youth

Jul 24 - 9:00 am | Jul 26 - 12:00 pm

Get ready for a workshop designed to help young people find their voices and explore the art of story, imagination, creativity and play.

Creative Edge is a free three-day summer series for participants (ages 13-17) to stretch their writing muscles and have some creative fun. Facilitator Danielle Pope, The Story Midwife, will guide participants through a progressive series of writing activities, exercises and prompts to get the words flowing, deepen levels of expression and help participants build their writing toolboxes — all through the inspiring backdrop of the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria.

Bring along a favourite notebook and pen, and get ready to write!

Held for three consecutive mornings, this workshop is focused on short bursts of writing, based on a variety of prompts, some of which will be inspired by art.  There is no requirement for participants to read the work aloud although sharing is encouraged if desired.

Wednesday, July 24, 9am-12pm.
Thursday, July 25, 9am-12pm.
Friday, July 26, 9am-12pm.
