Max Maynard

Max Maynard was born in Solauram India in 1903. He was a dynamic individual who combined a long and distinguished university career teaching English with the successful production of some good art. Although derivative of the Group of Seven and Emily Carr, he demonstrates a distinctive approach to the west coast landscape. He died in Victoria in 1982.; contemporary of Evily Carr, Jack Shadbolt and Edythe Hembroff-Schleicher
