Coast Salish; Born in 1973 in Duncan, BC, LessLIE is a member of the Coast Salish Nation(Cowichan, Penelakut, and Esquimalt). lessLIE's main inspiration has been Coast Salish artist Susan A. Point (to whom he is also related), as well as fellow innovators Robert Davidson and Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun. lessLIE is critical of the impacts of colonization on his people and executes his ideas through his artwork. lessLIE worked at the Thunderbird Carving Studio at the Royal British Columbia Museum as part of his MA work. He is represented by Alcheringa Gallery. less also has an interest in literature and ppoetry, and has created written works as well, in our exhibition Transporters he incorporated text and image fo the first time in a project./Education
