BiographyGeorge Heriot was an outstanding artist trained in the British Military tradition of topographical painting who was stationed in Lower Canada in the early 19th century. Heriot depicted scenes of early Quebec and surrounds with not only accuracy but his superb handling of the watercolour medium and interesting compositions which raised his work above the strictly representational to something unique for this early period.Person TypeIndividual
