TEMOSEṈŦET (Charles Elliott)

First Nations T'sartlip artist; TEMOSEṈŦET (Charles Elliott) was born and raised on the Tsartlip reserve located on the west side of the Saanich Peninsula, B.C. He is a member of the Coast Salish Nation and began drawing, painting, and carving at an early age. Charles is one of the many artists who believe that you must know about your culture and where it came from before you try to express it in art. Salish art had to be woken and nurtured back to health to become strong due in a big part to the influence of Elliot on younger generations.
