Toyohara ChikanobuJapanese, 1838 - 1912

He was born as a son of a Samurai-family of the Shogunate in Niigata Prefecture. First he studied from Kuniyoshi, Kunisada and then Kunichika. His favorite subjects were illustrations of life in the Meiji period.
