Bone, David Muirhead, Sir

Bone is considered on of the most significant British printmakers of the early 20th century. He was a draughtsman and engraver as well as a British War artist in both World Wars. His subjects most often related to construction and demolition of buildings as well as industry. His prints are found in all major public collections that focus on printmaking.

His work would have been known to and influenced Canadian printmakers in our collection such as Dorothy Stevens and Herbert Raine.
