Descriptiona&b: Main body of suit (corselet) is in two pieces; the left side is hinged together, the right side fastens with a fabric loop & tie; the chest & back plates are of thin metal covered with leather & maybe lacquered; the front & back of each has a dependant kusazuri or divided skirt consisting of 3 groups of 4 leather, metal & lacquer plates strung together vertically with mainly blue silk braid(the edge braid is multicoloured). The back extends over the shoulder & attaches by toggles to the left & right front; the back has a socket which is used to hold a sashimono(small banner with a family crest or other design). There is a fabric collar/neck pad(c) of green cotton(?) lined with silk brocade.Status
