Descriptionfigure of a young shepherdess in unglazed porcelain, finely modelled. Girl stands on a roughly textured base with a small cluster of foliage in applied relief & a covered urn near her foot. She lightly holds a lamb, who lies against her breast, looking up at her face. Her heas inclines to one side & downward as she looks at the lamb. Girl has cherubic facial features & the carefully detailed folds of her otherwise simple peasant dress along with the fine details of her hair have a classical quality combining an air of gentleness with grace.Status
