DescriptionWinter, Lynn Valley was painted in 1939, long after the group of seven had disbanded. It depicts an area outside Vancouver where the artist lived for some years after he left his family. The intriguing green and blue palette was implemented by Varley to suggest the highest state of spirituality attainable under the tenets of Buddhism and occultism.
