DescriptionThis charcoal drawing illustrates the variety of effects to be made with the charcoal medium. The artist has successfully depicted the tangle of reeds & rushes, driftwood & decaying debris with a variety of strokes. To achieve sharp definition, he has left some lines very dark & finely drawn, smudging other areas to produce convincing contrast.
