DescriptionStatuette depicts the Hindu god Shiva Nataraja standing on his right foot proper on top of a demon who rests on a cushion with a cobra. Figure has four arms: a cobra uncoils from his lower right forearm, his upper right hand holds a small drum shaped like an hourglass, his upper left hand holds a flame and his lower left hand points toward his raised left foot. The head of figure has a headdress and a section of 3 wavy parallel bars (representing hair) attached at the back of the head. Statuette rests on a raised tiered base or dais with incised decorative motifs.Status
