DescriptionBuddha is seated in meditation or dhyana mudra, cross-legged on a narrow (height of c.10 cm) platform or dais. His hands are together in his lap, the robe is flowing with carefully arranged folds covering the feet and there is a large plain circular halo (mandorla) around the head and upper body. The hair of the Buddha is wavy and arranged in a bun at the top. He has longish ears, finely chiseled features and a circular tuft of hair (urna) on his forehead. Statue rests on a wooden two tiered base (recent).
