DescriptionTerrific scene of a daimyo's procession arriving at the entrance to the shogun's palace as evening falls. A group of noblemen sit on a mat in the center, watching as a group crosses the bridge to the imposing stone castle entrance. At left a retainer waters a horse while another man places a lighted candle inside a collapsible paper lantern. A large bonfire burns behind them, casting an orange glow on the watching crowd as smoke billows into the sky.Status
