DescriptionIn this outdoor scene, two men wear their hair in the Japanese traditional topknot style. This was no longer in fashion after 1872 when the Emperor cut off his topknot and adopted a western style haircut. The young lady is travelling in a kago. The man in the front is holding a pole to stabilize the kago.Status
