DescriptionDepiction from the Russo-Japanese War of Japanese troops atttacking the enemy fortress at Liaoyang. The soldiers scale the crumbling stone walls of the castle, a general waving a japanese flag and raising his sword high as he urges his men forward. At right, flames rise from the burning buildings below, and a shell explodes as it hits the corner of the wall beleath a tower, puffs of smoke marking the other shots.Status
