DescriptionThis photograph known as "The Officer's Daughter" is one of the earliest existing portraits of a Japanese Eurasian individual. This beautiful young lady in a kimono wears her hair the western style with a center part and bangs that had become popular in the Meiji era. It seems that the colourist's could chose the type and colour of the floral ornaments worn in the hair.Status
