DescriptionThe harlot (Moll Hackabout) is now the mistress of a well-to-do Jewish merchant, and is living a life of luxury. She keeps a west-Indian servant and a monkey, and the room is lavishly decorated with works of art and fine furniture. In this plate the merchant comes home unexpectedly and in an attempt to distract him so her lover can sneak out unseen, the harlot knocks the table over as a distraction.Status
