DescriptionA scene from the kabuki play " A Paulowina Leaf (Kiri Hitoha). Two samurai on horseback pause for a moment during their travels, the younger of the two looking behind him cautiously. A full moon glows overhead in the pale blue sky, and a willow tree frames the scene at the left. The horses are played by two actors each, which is evident by the unusually long legs and feet.
