DescriptionBunraku puppet is very elaborately made. The eyes and the mouth can be opened and closed. The shadowy puppet master and two assistants in black clothes operate one puppet for the performance. The puppet is named Matsu-o-maru, who is the main character in the play, "Sugawara Denju Tenarai kagami". His attribute is "matsu" (pine tree). Its brances are patterned in his robe.Status
